Meet, Mingle, and Make It Matter: Facilitating Connection with MPI Toronto

Earlier this week I had the great pleasure of facilitating the MPI Toronto Chapter Membership Committee’s event, Meet, Mingle, and Make It Matter.

It was more than just another virtual gathering. It brought together Meeting Professionals International members from across the spectrum, from those who joined just days ago to long-standing members with over 20 years of experience. Watching those conversations unfold was a reminder of the strength and depth of this industry.

What stood out most was the generosity of members in sharing their experiences and insights. Whether it was a veteran reflecting on decades of industry change or a new member excited to explore opportunities, every voice added to the richness of the discussion. The energy was fun, engaging, and inspiring.

Special moments included Brenda Perrin calling in from Fredericton (and winning the prize for being furthest away), not to mention acing the MPI quiz. We might have limited her prize haul to one, but her spirit set the tone for the day.

I left feeling re-energized about the value of these spaces: where meaningful connections are made, where new members feel welcomed, and where seasoned professionals can share wisdom in a way that keeps the industry moving forward.

Big thanks to my fellow MPI Toronto Chapter Membership Committee members and to everyone who joined us for taking the time to invest in connection and community.

Until next time, let’s keep making it matter.
