Hi, I’m Theresa Bailey, bestselling author, award-winning entrepreneur, and founder of Starfish Synergies Inc.

Over two decades ago, I was conducting graduate research with young women in a homeless shelter, searching for answers to a question that still fuels my work today:

What makes people and teams thrive, even in the face of adversity?

From community programs to executive boardrooms, I’ve spent my career exploring the science of resilience, adaptability, and connection. And in March 2020, that research met reality.

As the pandemic hit, I was a single mother of three, watching my consulting income disappear almost overnight. But instead of folding, I leaned into what I knew: I bet on myself, got creative, and transformed a crisis into an opportunity.

That’s when Hasbro invited me to develop a training program for their team, and from that collaboration, Play-Doh Power Solutions was born.

Now, as the exclusive North American license holder for Play-Doh Power Solutions Corporate Training, my team and I deliver experiential, neuroscience-based training that is as impactful as it is unforgettable. Our programs fuse research with play to help teams communicate better, innovate faster, and thrive together.

We’ve worked with teams across Canada, the U.S., and internationally, helping companies stay resilient, inspired, and ready for what’s next.

In 2025, I was honoured to receive the Export Plan of the Year Award from the World Trade Centre Toronto for our ambitious strategy to scale globally. And as a bestselling author, I continue to share stories that amplify human potential and spark change.

Behind the Brand

Starfish represents resilience, adaptability, and resourcefulness.

Cutting off a starfish appendage doesn’t slow a starfish down. It grows back a new limb and the detached appendage can grow into a new starfish. Starfish are remarkably resilient creatures. Each team has the potential to be remarkable, too.
